Kerry from the air
Up to now I have dodged helicopters but Kerry being the place that it is, I just had to go up on this one. I’d recommend it to anyone to take the chance if you get it as it really does give you a unique perspective on the countryside. It certainly helped in this wedding as we got three locations in as well as the trip back to the Hotel in about an hour – impossible any other way! That was followed up by a very good reception at the Ballygarry House Hotel in Tralee. This is one of the few hotels around that can cater for 300+ guests and still manage to get the food spot on.

Everest…
Well, maybe not yet…
Today was the day of the charity climb to Carrantouhill, Ireland’s highest peak in aid of Kerry Hospice and the People in Need. We had a very demanding route up through the Hag’s Glen, O’ Sheas Gully and back down through Heavens Gates.
This was my first time up Carrantouhill but definately not my last. Next time will be at a more relaxed pace to try to capture some of the raw beauty of the place and to do it some justice. Today was just a frantic few shots in between scrambing for grip, ducking out of the windy gusts and keeping up with the group… The fog/cloud at the top ruined our chances of a decent shot for the Kerryman but we will put something in anyway.
Well done to all who participated and to the organisers and the guides who gave their time for two worthy causes. You can find some shots below and the others are on here:

Kathryn & Roberto
Back to Gougane again with another great couple from London. A good day in the sunshine in west Cork with the reception back in the Malton hotel in Killarney. This hotel has had a change ownership and name recently but it looks as good as ever and the service is excellent.

Bunratty
I headed for Clare for the photographs of this Castletroy wedding party. With the reception in the adjacent Bunratty Castle Hotel, the Folk Park in Bunratty is a great place to spend a half hour before the drinks reception. If you haven’t visited, you should take the family. The management there have put a huge effort in to re-create an old Irish village with lots to see and of course re-storing the castle itself.
Anne Marie and Donal were great on the day – a very relaxed and enjoyable wedding.

Billy & Kay
It’s said that you should never work with animals or kids… Photographers usually add friends to that list but for these two, I had to make an exception! A bit strange when knowing the couple so well but a good day out all the same. Well done lads, an enjoyable day in beautiful sunshine.
